I can’t believe it but it’s already time for another $1000 monthly giveaway. That’s two down, three more to go. We’re going to use the same selection method as last month. This time there are 99 people eligible to win, which works out good since we have a winner in the first round unless the closing number ends with .00.
To review, here’s how it works. The winner will be determined by the closing number of the NASDAQ stock exchange. The closing number will be six digits, four to the left of the decimal, and 2 to the right, like XXXX.XX. Each eligible member has been assigned an “entry number”. These numbers are listed below. Just to mix things up, I assigned the numbers by reverse alphabetical order. If the two digits to the right of the decimal (XXXX.XX) match your number, then you win! If those numbers are 00 then we move one digit to left, and use the two numbers on either side of the decimal (XXXX.XX). If those numbers don’t match any entries, then we move one more digit to the left, and use the two numbers to the left of the decimal (XXXX.XX). At that point, if the number doesn’t match, then we DO NOT continue to move to the left. Instead, we add the amount the market increased, or subtract the amount it decreased, since the previous close. We then start the process over using the new number. An example of this method can be found in this thread.
Here are the entry numbers. I will post the winner as soon as I know who it is. FYI, the market closes at 4 PM Eastern. Good luck everyone!
Just a quick question… Doesn’t it raise the percentage for people with 10,20,30,40 etc… If it ends .00, then you only move over 1 space, meaning that those people are the only ones that can win if it comes out .00
Now, it is not my money and I think this is an amazing offer.... But shouldn’t it automatically jump 2 places, rather than one, giving everyone an equal opportunity?
Good thinking, Snatch. Your right. Last month there were like 35 “empty” spots, so every number had an equal chance. But with only one empty spot, it does give an advantage.
There’s only a 1 in 100 chance that well need to, but I’m officially changing the rules so that if it’s .00, it will jump two spots two the left instead of one.
